where it all began...
It all started with a wedding! After searching for the perfect invitation design for her wedding back in 2010, Amber decided that the only way that she could have what she envisioned was to create it herself. Once her wedding planner found out that she had created her own invitations she hired her to create invitations for one of her events and the response was overwhelmingly enthusiatic. That November, in Long Beach, California, Adaria Designs by ahd was born.
Driven by a love of beautiful words, art, and the desire to make people smile Adaria Designs by ahd went from a one woman show working out of a tiny home office to a family of creatives. So, who is adaria?
Ok, its story time...as a little girl I split time between my grandparents' houses while my parents were at work. My maternal grandmother, Ada, would take me to with her to work to some of her clients homes all across Beverly Hills. At a young age I began to appreciate the value of hardworking and building lasting client relationships. I witnessed, first hand how this incredible woman built and maintained successful business from the group up all while raising five children.
When spending time with my paternal great-grandmother, Maria, it was the stories. Each time we were together my Granny would tell me about life back in Panama, how she came to be known as the go to seamstress in the city and those surrounding. Her business started accidentally, like mine and out of necessity, just like mine but her creativity took over. In our times together she taught me to sew and how to appreciate quality design.
So, realizing that this business was something I was destined to do I needed a name, what more of a tribute could make to the incredible women that inspired me that in the name...ADA + MARIA...Adaria. And so it was...
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. Now, I'd love to get to know you!
